LICI has come up with a positive performance during Q2 of 2009 with an all round increase in sales figures. This performance comes in the midst of a negative trend in the industry where Life insurance sales have been dropping since 2006. LICI had recently announced annual reversionary Bonus for all its policyholders for the year 2008 and this involves a payout of over F$5.8 million to nearly 41000 customers. For the first six months of the year 2009, LICI has recorded a 15% increase in new policy sales accompanied by a 27% growth in its first premium income. Total premium grew by 7% in the same period. LICI sources attribute this sterling performance to the vigorous marketing campaign undertaken during Q2 and the perseverance of its sales agents.
